What is Litmustext?

We are a writing club and a platform for readers to find the best, freshest creative writing to read. Our mission:

Motivate and inspire each other to write; share our projects with friends and fans.

Who can join?
 Readers, writers, editors, and fans.

Are there dues? No dues are required at this time. When the site exits Beta, Member Registration of $20/yr will get you access to custom smackdown contests and in-person New York City writing events. Everyone is encouraged to participate at the FREE member level.

What does the site do?

We post projects in progress. Comments, reminders, updates, and a very friendly competitive environment help motivate writers to spend the time to make their writing awesome. When you accomplish something, we twitter it @litmustext! You can share your projects or parts of projects with your facebook network. When you complete a project, you can find out how to post it on sites like Scribd or Amazon for profit (you keep all of the revenue from those venues). We get together online constantly to write, write, write. You can even work on your projects from your phone and send updates through e-mail. If you're the competitive type, you can join a smackdown contest with shorter projects and see how your writing stacks up next to a competitor.
